Washington: Actor Joe Turkel, most popular for his jobs in The Shining and Blade Runner, is no more. He kicked the bucket at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California as of late, Variety revealed. He was 94.

Joe rose to popularity by doing supporting jobs in three Stanley Kubrick films, including his most memorable element The Killing, Paths of Glory and The Shining, where he played the frequently caricatured job of the spooky barkeep Lloyd. He likewise played a noticeable part in the first 1982 Blade Runner, as capricious replicant maker Eldon Tyrell.

On TV, he showed up in episodes of well known shows, for example, The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp, Sky King, Tales from the Darkside, The Lone Ranger, S.W.A.T, Adam-12, Ironside, The Andy Griffith Show, Ben Casey, The Untouchables, Dragnet, Miami Vice and Bonanza. His last credit prior to resigning was a voice job in a 1997 Blade Runner computer game side project.

Before acting, he joined the U.S. Armed force at age 17, serving in Europe during World War II.
