MP Shiv Sena Will Meet The Families Of Kashmiri Pandits Killed In The New Attacks

Shiv Sena Priyanka Chaturvedi also wrote a letter to Interior Minister Amit Shah asking for the security of the Kashmiri Pandits in the valley.

NEW DELHI: Shiv Sena Priyanka Chaturvedi will visit Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday to meet the families of Kashmiri pandits recently killed by terrorists.

Ms Chaturvedi, who will carry a message of unity from her party leadership, is likely to meet two to three families, including government official Rahul Bhata.

Earlier this month, MP Shiv Sena also wrote a letter to Interior Minister Amit Shah asking for the security of Kashmiri pandits in the valley.

Chief Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Prime Minister Uddhav Thackeray have criticized the central government for failing to ensure the safety of Kashmiri pandits in the Kashmir Valley. “We will do what is necessary, but we will not disappoint the Kashmiri pandits. They promised them a safe return to the valley, but the only thing that met them was violence,” Maharashtra told the media.

“The situation in Kashmir is extremely worrying. Unfortunately, the situation is returning this time. We expect the Indonesian government to take strong steps to ensure its protection,” said Maharashtra Minister Aaditya Thackeray. Shiv Sena also asked Balasaheb Thackeray when he spoke about the welfare of Kashmiri Pandits.

Terrorists have killed a total of 13 civilians in the past three months, raising fears among locals, especially Kashmiri Pandits, who want to flee the valley.

Last week, Union Minister Amit Shah conducted a detailed review of the security situation in the country’s capital. Also present were National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, and key security officials.
